How to make a Paper Dress by MyPaperPlanet

Make your own paper dresses!

 dress1

Start with a square of patterned paper.

dress2

Fold in half with the pattern on the outside.

dress3

Open the paper out again, and fold the edges in to meet at the centre.

dress4

Turn the paper over, and fold the creased edges into the centre.

dress5

Turn the paper over, and fold back approx 1/3 of the way from the top.

dress6

Fold back to create a Z shape. This forms the waist line of the dress.

dress7

To open up the skirt section, ease the side out and flatten.

dress8

Repeat for the other side.

dress9

To form the neckline, fold down the top of the bodice section on both sides.

dress10

Turn the dress over, and fold the neckline back on the crease lines you made in the previous step.

dress11

Flatten the folded sections to the back.

dress12

Fold the sides of the bodice only (not the skirt at this stage) back along the edge of the square sections.

dress13

Hold the last fold down, and fold the skirt section in a diagonal line from the waist line to a point at the hem.

dress14

Repeat for the other side.

dress16

Turn over, fold out the sleeves - and your paper dress is done and ready to decorate!

Add ribbon along the waist-band, or add embellishments to decorate. If you would like to add a patterned hem, use decorative scissors or punches along the bottom of the paper square before starting the paper dress folding.
